Know the Savior, Today! Ministries
Come with us in our journey of discovering the heart of our Savior.
The world is full of brokenness through sin - both on a horizontal as well as a vertical plane. But, there is a God who patiently and masterfully works behind the scenes of our lives to mend that which was broken, binding together the painful fractures with the golden chords of His healing love, reconciling us to Himself and to one another. If we are open, He will reveal Himself to us, assuring us that He is with us and has been guiding us through the sometimes twisted paths of our lives.
Grow with us in the saving knowledge of such a God, for to know Him is to love Him, and to love Him is eternal life!

Examining Scripture, Discovering WHO GOD IS
February 1, 2026
We have spent the first month of 2026 familiarizing ourselves with the names, titles, and attributes of GOD. This has been a fruitful study. It was by no means a comprehensive and certainly not a complete study, but fruitful, nevertheless. I remember hearing from one theologian that he had found 365 such references to GOD in the Holy Scriptures, suggesting that GOD meets and covers our every and daily needs, that He is "our all in all."
Some years ago, a colleague friend was struggling to understand scripture as he was reading the Bible through. He was taking the Genesis to Revelation route. In his "brute force" approach, he was becoming bogged down going through the various genealogies and the Levitical feasts and sacrifices. I suggested to him, that perhaps he should be more relationally goal oriented and seek to know "WHO IS GOD, and what does HE want of me?"
It will be our endeavor in February, and perhaps onward, to continue to look at Scripture to discover WHO GOD IS by considering the what, the how, and the why of GOD's actions and interactions with mankind, with celestial beings ("angels") both good and evil, and even among THE DIVINE GODHEAD, ITSELF. Remember, though, that GOD is infinite, and no amount of searching can "find out GOD" in all of HIS "fullness." That will be our gladsome privilege, to continue to learn of GOD, throughout the ceaseless ages of eternity.
Let us begin with one of my favorite promises of GOD:
Jeremiah 29:13
13 And ye shall seek ME, and find ME, when ye shall search for ME with all your heart.
Our sin nature has separated us from GOD (Isaiah 59:2). Because HE IS ABSOLUTE HOLINESS, and because HE IS A CONSUMING FIRE to anything that is unholy, GOD in HIS mercy has "hidden" HIMSELF from us. Yet, HE is shown in Genesis 3, that HE pursues us, seeks us in love to restore the broken relationship. Through a fervent and heart-surrendering prayer, through a diligent study of and sincere, humble searching of GOD's WORD, we may begin to know the heart of the GOD we seek.
May our search for GOD be rewarded with awesome revelations of a GOD WHO IS LOVE (1 John 4:8, 16).

This is JESUS' favorite appellation when referring to HIMSELF. Each of the Gospels record this truth, capturing the closeness JESUS felt to the humanity that HE came to save, taking on our flesh, identifying HIMSELF with us in all of our sufferings and temptations, leading us to the fullest knowledge of GOD we could have before we stand in HIS very presence and behold HIM, no longer as through a glass darkly, but face to face, in all of HIS glory.

SON OF GOD
The Sovereign of the universe was not alone in His work of beneficence. He had an associate—a co-worker who could appreciate His purposes, and could share His joy in giving happiness to created beings. "In the beginning was the Word, and the Word was with God, and the Word was God. The same was in the beginning with God." John 1:1, 2. Christ, the Word, the only begotten of God, was one with the eternal Father—one in nature, in character, in purpose—the only being that could enter into all the counsels and purposes of God. "His name shall be called Wonderful, Counselor, The mighty God, The everlasting Father, The Prince of Peace." Isaiah 9:6. His "goings forth have been from of old, from everlasting." Micah 5:2. And the Son of God declares concerning Himself: "The Lord possessed Me in the beginning of His way, before His works of old. I was set up from everlasting. . . . When He appointed the foundations of the earth: then I was by Him, as one brought up with Him: and I was daily His delight, rejoicing always before Him." Proverbs 8:22-30.
The Father wrought by His Son in the creation of all heavenly beings. "By Him were all things created, . . . whether they be thrones, or dominions, or principalities, or powers: all things were created by Him, and for Him." Colossians 1:16. Angels are God's ministers, radiant with the light ever flowing from His presence and speeding on rapid wing to execute His will. But the Son, the anointed of God, the "express image of His person," "the brightness of His glory," "upholding all things by the word of His power," holds supremacy over them all. Hebrews 1:3. "A glorious high throne from the beginning," was the place of His sanctuary (Jeremiah 17:12); "a scepter of righteousness," the scepter of His kingdom. Hebrews 1:8. "Honor and majesty are before Him: strength and beauty are in His sanctuary." Psalm 96:6. Mercy and truth go before His face. Psalm 89:14. - Patriarchs and Prophets, p.34
"LOGOS: THE WORD OF GOD"
January 29, 2026
John 1:1–3, 14
1 In the beginning was THE WORD, and THE WORD was with GOD, and THE WORD was (IS) GOD. 2 The same was in the beginning with GOD. 3 All things were made by HIM; and without HIM was not any thing made that was made.... 14 And THE WORD was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld HIS glory, the glory as of THE ONLY BEGOTTEN OF THE FATHER,) full of grace and truth.
Genesis 1:1–3
1 In the beginning GOD created the heaven and the earth. 2 And the earth was without form, and void; and darkness was upon the face of the deep. And THE SPIRIT OF GOD moved upon the face of the waters. 3 And GOD said, Let there be light: and there was light.
Psalm 33:8–9
8 Let all the earth fear the LORD: Let all the inhabitants of the world stand in awe of HIM. 9 For HE spake, and it was done; HE commanded, and it stood fast.
Revelation 19:13
13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God.
LOGOS
Theological Significance
1. Identification of Jesus as Eternal God
By calling Jesus the Logos, Scripture identifies Him as the active agent in creation and the embodiment of God’s truth. John 1:1 asserts co-existence with the Father “in the beginning,” pointing to the eternal nature of the Son. This negates any view of Christ as a created being and instead establishes His divine identity.
2. Bridge Between God and Humanity
The incarnation of the Logos (John 1:14) highlights the profound theological truth that God Himself stepped into human history, making redemption possible. This act reaffirms that salvation happens through Christ alone, the everlasting “Word” who reconciles fallen humanity to a holy God.
3. Source of Revelation
“Logos” also indicates the manner in which God has chosen to reveal Himself. Jesus, as the divine Logos, is the full revelation of the Father (cf. John 14:9). The gospel thus stands as the supreme communication of God to humankind, pinpointing Christ as the foundation of both creation and redemption.
Practical and Devotional Implications
1. A Call to Worship
Recognizing Christ as the divine Word draws devotees to worship Him for His eternal nature, creative authority, and sacrificial work of salvation.
2. Living by the Word
Since “the word of God is living and active” (Hebrews 4:12), believers are called to align their lives with the transformative power of Scripture and the person of Christ. Christians view the Bible as the written expression of God’s logos, pointing ultimately to the incarnate Word.
3. Foundation for Evangelism and Apologetics
The concept of Jesus as the Logos offers a bridge for discussions with diverse worldviews. In Greek philosophical settings, it clarified that Christ is not merely a concept but the personal embodiment of truth and reason. Today, it remains a powerful point of engagement, presenting the historical, relational God who saves through Jesus. - Bible Hub
"THE LAMB OF GOD"
January 28, 2026
John 1:29
29 The next day John seeth JESUS coming unto him, and saith, Behold THE LAMB OF GOD, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Genesis 22:9–18
9 And they came to the place which God had told him of; and Abraham built an altar there, and laid the wood in order, and bound Isaac his son, and laid him on the altar upon the wood. 10 And Abraham stretched forth his hand, and took the knife to slay his son. 11 And the angel of the Lord called unto him out of heaven, and said, Abraham, Abraham: and he said, Here am I. 12 And he said, Lay not thine hand upon the lad, neither do thou any thing unto him: for now I know that thou fearest God, seeing thou hast not withheld thy son, thine only son from me. 13 And Abraham lifted up his eyes, and looked, and behold behind him a ram caught in a thicket by his horns: and Abraham went and took the ram, and offered him up for a burnt offering in the stead of his son. 14 And Abraham called the name of that place Jehovah-jireh: as it is said to this day, In the mount of the Lord it shall be seen. 15 And the angel of the Lord called unto Abraham out of heaven the second time, 16 And said, By myself have I sworn, saith the Lord, for because thou hast done this thing, and hast not withheld thy son, thine only son: 17 That in blessing I will bless thee, and in multiplying I will multiply thy seed as the stars of the heaven, and as the sand which is upon the sea shore; and thy seed shall possess the gate of his enemies; 18 And in thy seed shall all the nations of the earth be blessed; because thou hast obeyed my voice.
Exodus 12:3–11
3 Speak ye unto all the congregation of Israel, saying, In the tenth day of this month they shall take to them every man a lamb, according to the house of their fathers, a lamb for an house: 4 And if the household be too little for the lamb, let him and his neighbour next unto his house take it according to the number of the souls; every man according to his eating shall make your count for the lamb. 5 Your lamb shall be without blemish, a male of the first year: ye shall take it out from the sheep, or from the goats: 6 And ye shall keep it up until the fourteenth day of the same month: and the whole assembly of the congregation of Israel shall kill it in the evening. 7 And they shall take of the blood, and strike it on the two side posts and on the upper door post of the houses, wherein they shall eat it. 8 And they shall eat the flesh in that night, roast with fire, and unleavened bread; and with bitter herbs they shall eat it. 9 Eat not of it raw, nor sodden at all with water, but roast with fire; his head with his legs, and with the purtenance thereof. 10 And ye shall let nothing of it remain until the morning; and that which remaineth of it until the morning ye shall burn with fire. 11 And thus shall ye eat it; with your loins girded, your shoes on your feet, and your staff in your hand; and ye shall eat it in haste: it is THE LORD's PASSOVER.
Isaiah 53:1–12
1 Who hath believed our report? And to whom is the arm of the LORD revealed? 2 For HE shall grow up before HIM as a tender plant, And as a root out of a dry ground: HE hath no form nor comeliness; And when we shall see HIM, there is no beauty that we should desire HIM. 3 HE is despised and rejected of men; A man of sorrows, and acquainted with grief: And we hid as it were our faces from HIM; HE was despised, and we esteemed HIM not. 4 Surely HE hath borne our griefs, And carried our sorrows: Yet we did esteem HIM stricken, Smitten of GOD, and afflicted. 5 But HE was wounded for our transgressions, HE was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon HIM; And with HIS stripes we are healed. 6 All we like sheep have gone astray; We have turned every one to his own way; And the LORD hath laid on HIM the iniquity of us all. 7 HE was oppressed, and HE was afflicted, Yet HE opened not HIS mouth: HE is brought as a lamb to the slaughter, And as a sheep before her shearers is dumb, So HE openeth not HIS mouth. 8 HE was taken from prison and from judgment: And who shall declare HIS generation? For HE was cut off out of the land of the living: For the transgression of my people was HE stricken. 9 And HE made his grave with the wicked, And with the rich in HIS death; Because HE had done no violence, Neither was any deceit in HIS mouth. 10 Yet it pleased the LORD to bruise HIM; HE hath put HIM to grief: When thou shalt make HIS soul an offering for sin, HE shall see HIS seed, he shall prolong HIS days, And the pleasure of the LORD shall prosper in HIS hand. 11 HE shall see of the travail of HIS soul, and shall be satisfied: By HIS knowledge shall my RIGHTEOUS SERVANT justify many; For HE shall bear their iniquities. 12 Therefore will I divide HIM a portion with the great, And HE shall divide the spoil with the strong; Because HE hath poured out HIS soul unto death: And HE was numbered with the transgressors; And HE bare the sin of many, And made intercession for the transgressors.
Acts 8:32
32 The place of the scripture which he read was this, He was led as a sheep to the slaughter; and like a lamb dumb before his shearer, so opened he not his mouth:
1 Peter 1:18–21
18 Forasmuch as ye know that ye were not redeemed with corruptible things, as silver and gold, from your vain conversation received by tradition from your fathers; 19 But with the precious blood of CHRIST, as of a lamb without blemish and without spot: 20 Who verily was foreordained before the foundation of the world, but was manifest in these last times for you, 21 Who by HIM do believe in GOD, that raised HIM up from the dead, and gave HIM glory; that your faith and hope might be in GOD.
Revelation 5:6–10
6 And I beheld, and, lo, in the midst of the throne and of the four beasts, and in the midst of the elders, stood a LAMB as it had been slain, having seven horns and seven eyes, which are the SEVEN SPIRITS OF GOD sent forth into all the earth. 7 And HE came and took the book out of the right hand of HIM that sat upon the throne. 8 And when HE had taken the book, the four beasts and four and twenty elders fell down before the LAMB, having every one of them harps, and golden vials full of odours, which are the prayers of saints. 9 And they sung a new song, saying, THOU art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for THOU wast slain, and hast redeemed us to GOD by THY blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation; 10 And hast made us unto our GOD kings and priests: and we shall reign on the earth.
THE LAMB
"John had been deeply moved as he saw Jesus bowed as a suppliant, pleading with tears for the approval of the Father. As the glory of God encircled Him, and the voice from heaven was heard, John recognized the token which God had promised. He knew that it was the world's Redeemer whom he had baptized. The Holy Spirit rested upon him, and with outstretched hand pointing to Jesus, he cried, "Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world."
None among the hearers, and not even the speaker himself, discerned the import of these words, "the Lamb of God." Upon Mount Moriah, Abraham had heard the question of his son, "My father, . . . where is the lamb for a burnt offering?" The father answered, "My son, God will provide Himself a lamb for a burnt offering." Genesis 22:7, 8. And in the ram divinely provided in the place of Isaac, Abraham saw a symbol of Him who was to die for the sins of men. The Holy Spirit through Isaiah, taking up the illustration, prophesied of the Saviour, "He is [113] brought as a lamb to the slaughter," "and the Lord hath laid on Him the iniquity of us all" (Isaiah 53:7, 6); but the people of Israel had not understood the lesson. Many of them regarded the sacrificial offerings much as the heathen looked upon their sacrifices,—as gifts by which they themselves might propitiate the Deity. God desired to teach them that from His own love comes the gift which reconciles them to Himself.
And the word that was spoken to Jesus at the Jordan, "This is My beloved Son, in whom I am well pleased," embraces humanity. God spoke to Jesus as our representative. With all our sins and weaknesses, we are not cast aside as worthless. "He hath made us accepted in the Beloved." Ephesians 1:6. The glory that rested upon Christ is a pledge of the love of God for us. It tells us of the power of prayer,—how the human voice may reach the ear of God, and our petitions find acceptance in the courts of heaven. By sin, earth was cut off from heaven, and alienated from its communion; but Jesus has connected it again with the sphere of glory. His love has encircled man, and reached the highest heaven. The light which fell from the open portals upon the head of our Saviour will fall upon us as we pray for help to resist temptation. The voice which spoke to Jesus says to every believing soul, This is My beloved child, in whom I am well pleased.
"Beloved, now are we the sons of God, and it doth not yet appear what we shall be: but we know that, when He shall appear, we shall be like Him; for we shall see Him as He is." 1 John 3:2. Our Redeemer has opened the way so that the most sinful, the most needy, the most oppressed and despised, may find access to the Father. All may have a home in the mansions which Jesus has gone to prepare. "These things saith He that is holy, He that is true, He that hath the key of David, He that openeth, and no man shutteth; and shutteth, and no man openeth; . . . behold, I have set before thee an open door, and no man can shut it." Revelation 3:7, 8. - Desire of Ages, pp.112, 113

January 27, 2026

8 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the ending, saith the Lord, which is, and which was, and which is to come, the Almighty.
Revelation 22:12–14
12 And, behold, I come quickly; and my reward is with me, to give every man according as his work shall be. 13 I am Alpha and Omega, the beginning and the end, the first and the last. 14 Blessed are they that do his commandments, that they may have right to the tree of life, and may enter in through the gates into the city.
Isaiah 44:6
6 Thus saith the LORD THE KING OF ISRAEL and his REDEEMER THE LORD OF HOSTS; I AM THE FIRST, and I AM THE LAST; And beside ME there is no GOD.
Isaiah 48:12–13
12 Hearken unto ME, O Jacob and Israel, MY called; I AM HE; I AM THE FIRST, I also AM THE LAST. 13 MINE hand also hath laid the foundation of the earth, And MY right hand hath spanned the heavens: When I call unto them, they stand up together.
"EMMANUEL: GOD WITH US"
January 26, 2026
Matthew 1:18–23
18 Now the birth of JESUS CHRIST was on this wise: When as HIS mother Mary was espoused to Joseph, before they came together, she was found with CHILD of the HOLY GHOST. 19 Then Joseph her husband, being a just man, and not willing to make her a publick example, was minded to put her away privily. 20 But while he thought on these things, behold, the ANGEL of the LORD appeared unto him in a dream, saying, Joseph, thou son of David, fear not to take unto thee Mary thy wife: for that which is conceived in her is of the HOLY GHOST. 21 And she shall bring forth a SON, and thou shalt call HIS name JESUS: for HE shall save HIS people from their sins. 22 Now all this was done, that it might be fulfilled which was spoken of the LORD by the prophet, saying, 23 Behold, a virgin shall be with child, and shall bring forth a SON, and they shall call HIS name EMMANUEL, which being interpreted is, GOD with us.
Isaiah 7:14
14 Therefore the LORD HIMSELF shall give you a sign; Behold, a virgin shall conceive, and bear a SON, And shall call HIS name IMMANUEL.
See also Exodus 25:8, John 1:14, and Philippians 2:5-11.
"His name shall be called Immanuel, . . . God with us." "The light of the knowledge of the glory of God" is seen "in the face of Jesus Christ." From the days of eternity the Lord Jesus Christ was one with the Father; He was "the image of God," the image of His greatness and majesty, "the outshining of His glory." It was to manifest this glory that He came to our world. To this sin-darkened earth He came to reveal the light of God's love,—to be "God with us." Therefore it was prophesied of Him, "His name shall be called Immanuel."
By coming to dwell with us, Jesus was to reveal God both to men and to angels. He was the Word of God,—God's thought made audible. In His prayer for His disciples He says, "I have declared unto them Thy name,"—"merciful and gracious, long-suffering, and abundant in goodness and truth,"—"that the love wherewith Thou hast loved Me may be in them, and I in them." But not alone for His earthborn children was this revelation given. Our little world is the lesson book of the universe. God's wonderful purpose of grace, the mystery of redeeming love, is the theme into which "angels desire to look," and it will be their study throughout endless ages. Both the redeemed and the unfallen beings will find in the cross of Christ their science and their song. It will be seen that the glory shining in the face of Jesus is the glory of self-sacrificing love. In the light from Calvary it will be seen that the law of self-renouncing love is the law of life for earth and heaven; that the love which "seeketh not her own" has its source in the heart of God; and that in the meek and lowly One is manifested the character of Him who dwelleth in the light which no man can approach unto. - Desire of Ages, pp.19, 20
"AB (ABBA): FATHER"
January 25, 2026
Isaiah 63:7-64:12
7 I will mention the lovingkindnesses of the LORD, and the praises of the LORD, According to all that the LORD hath bestowed on us, And the great goodness toward the house of Israel, Which HE hath bestowed on them according to HIS mercies, And according to the multitude of HIS lovingkindnesses. 8 For HE said, Surely they are MY people, Children that will not lie: So HE was their SAVIOR. 9 In all their affliction HE was afflicted, And the ANGEL OF HIS PRESENCE saved them: In HIS love and in HIS pity HE redeemed them; And HE bare them, and carried them all the days of old. 10 But they rebelled, and vexed HIS HOLY SPIRIT: Therefore HE was turned to be their enemy, and HE fought against them. 11 Then HE remembered the days of old, Moses, and HIS people, saying, Where is HE that brought them up out of the sea with THE SHEPHERD OF HIS FLOCK? Where is HE that put HIS HOLY SPIRIT within him? 12 That led them by the right hand of Moses with HIS glorious arm, Dividing the water before them, to make HIMSELF an everlasting name? 13 That led them through the deep, As an horse in the wilderness, that they should not stumble? 14 As a beast goeth down into the valley, THE SPIRIT OF THE LORD caused him to rest: So didst THOU lead THY people, To make THYSELF a glorious name. 15 Look down from heaven, and behold from the habitation of THY holiness and of THY glory: Where is THY zeal and THY strength, The sounding of THY bowels and of THY mercies toward me? are they restrained? 16 Doubtless THOU art our FATHER, Though Abraham be ignorant of us, And Israel acknowledge us not: THOU, O LORD, art our FATHER, our REDEEMER; THY name is from everlasting. 17 O LORD, why hast THOU made us to err from THY ways, And hardened our heart from THY fear? Return for THY servants’ sake, The tribes of THINE inheritance. 18 The people of THY HOLINESS have possessed it but a little while: Our adversaries have trodden down THY sanctuary. 19 We are THINE: THOU never barest rule over them; They were not called by THY name.
64:1 Oh that THOU wouldest rend the heavens, that THOU wouldest come down, That the mountains might flow down at THY PRESENCE, 2 As when the melting fire burneth, the fire causeth the waters to boil, To make THY NAME known to THINE adversaries, That the nations may tremble at THY PRESENCE! 3 When THOU didst terrible things which we looked not for, THOU camest down, the mountains flowed down at THY PRESENCE. 4 For since the beginning of the world men have not heard, nor perceived by the ear, Neither hath the eye seen, O GOD, beside THEE, What HE hath prepared for him that waiteth for HIM. 5 THOU meetest him that rejoiceth and worketh righteousness, Those that remember THEE in THY ways: Behold, THOU art wroth; for we have sinned: In those is continuance, and we shall be saved. 6 But we are all as an unclean thing, And all our righteousnesses are as filthy rags; And we all do fade as a leaf; And our iniquities, like the wind, have taken us away. 7 And there is none that calleth upon THY NAME, That stirreth up himself to take hold of THEE: For THOU hast hid THY face from us, And hast consumed us, because of our iniquities. 8 But now, O LORD, THOU art our FATHER; We are the clay, and THOU our POTTER; And we all are the work of THY HAND. 9 Be not wroth very sore, O LORD, Neither remember iniquity for ever: Behold, see, we beseech THEE, we are all THY people. 10 THY holy cities are a wilderness, Zion is a wilderness, Jerusalem a desolation. 11 Our holy and our beautiful house, Where our fathers praised THEE, Is burned up with fire: And all our pleasant things are laid waste. 12 Wilt THOU refrain THYSELF for these things, O LORD? Wilt THOU hold THY peace, and afflict us very sore?
Mark 14:36
36 And HE said, ABBA, FATHER, all things are possible unto THEE; take away this cup from ME: nevertheless not what I will, but what THOU wilt.
Romans 8:15–17
15 For ye have not received the spirit of bondage again to fear; but ye have received the SPIRIT OF ADOPTION, whereby we cry, ABBA, FATHER. 16 The SPIRIT itself beareth witness with our spirit, that we are the children of GOD: 17 And if children, then heirs; heirs of GOD, and joint-heirs with CHRIST; if so be that we suffer with HIM, that we may be also glorified together.

Isaiah 63:16 our Father. Though not prevalent, it is not uncommon to find the designation for GOD as FATHER explicit in the OT (see 64:8; Deut. 32:6; Jer. 3:4, 19).
Romans 8:15 ABBA, FATHER. “Abba” expresses a sense of endearment and deep respect and means “daddy” in Aramaic, Jesus’ mother tongue. JESUS used “Abba” in His prayers to address GOD (see Mark 14:36).

Jesus taught HIS disciples to pray in Matthew 6:9–13,
9 After this manner therefore pray ye: Our FATHER which art in heaven, Hallowed be THY name. 10 THY kingdom come. THY will be done in earth, as it is in heaven. 11 Give us this day our daily bread. 12 And forgive us our debts, as we forgive our debtors. 13 And lead us not into temptation, but deliver us from evil: For THINE is the kingdom, and the power, and the glory, for ever. "GO'EL: REDEEMER"
January 23, 2026
Job 19:25–27
25 For I know that my REDEEMER liveth, And that he shall stand at the latter day upon the earth: 26 And though after my skin worms destroy this body, Yet in my flesh shall I see God: 27 Whom I shall see for myself, And mine eyes shall behold, and not another; Though my reins be consumed within me.
Psalm 19:14
14 Let the words of my mouth, And the meditation of my heart, be acceptable in thy sight, O LORD, my Strength, and my REDEEMER.
Isaiah 48:17
17 Thus saith the LORD, thy REDEEMER, the Holy One of Israel; I AM the Lord thy God which teacheth thee to profit, Which leadeth thee by the way that thou shouldest go.
Galatians 3:13
13 Christ hath redeemed us from the curse of the law, being made a curse for us: for it is written, Cursed is every one that hangeth on a tree:
Revelation 5:9
9 And they sung a new song, saying, THOU art worthy to take the book, and to open the seals thereof: for THOU wast slain, and hast redeemed us to GOD by THY blood out of every kindred, and tongue, and people, and nation;
The Hebrew word translated “redeemer,” go’el, is rendered “avenger,” or “revenger” (Num. 35:12, 19, 21, 24, 25, 27), and kinsman, or near kinsman (Ruth 2:20; 3:9, 12; 4:1, 3, 6, 8, 14; see on Ruth 2:20). God is frequently called go’el in the sense that He vindicates the rights of men and ransoms those who have come under the dominion of another (Isa. 41:14; 43:14; 44:24; 47:4; etc.).
Job has already expressed his desire to have an “umpire” between him and God (ch. 9:32–35). In ch. 16:19 he has declared his conviction that his “witness is in heaven.” In v. 21 of the same chapter he longs to have an advocate to plead his cause with God. In ch. 17:3 he calls upon God to be surety for him. Having recognized God as “umpire,” witness, advocate, surety, it is perfectly logical that he should arrive at the recognition of God as his redeemer. This text represents one of the OT revelations of God as man’s redeemer, a profound truth that was fully revealed to men in the person and mission of Jesus Christ. - SDA Bible Commentary
"EL ROI: THE GOD WHO SEES ME"
January 22, 2026
Genesis 16:13
13 And she called the name of the LORD that spake unto her, THOU GOD seest me: for she said, Have I also here looked after HIM that seeth me?
Jeremiah 12:3 (KJV 1900)
3 But THOU, O LORD, knowest me: thou hast seen me, and tried mine heart toward THEE...
Hebrews 4:13
13 Neither is there any creature that is not manifest in HIS sight: but all things are naked and opened unto the eyes of HIM with whom we have to do.
El Roi is one of the names of God found in the Hebrew Bible, specifically in the Old Testament. This name is significant as it reveals an aspect of God's character and His relationship with humanity. The name "El Roi" is translated as "The God Who Sees" or "The God Who Sees Me," emphasizing God's omniscience and His personal care for individuals.
Biblical Reference:
The name El Roi appears in the Book of Genesis, in the narrative of Hagar, the Egyptian maidservant of Sarai (later Sarah), the wife of Abram (later Abraham). The specific reference is found in Genesis 16:13. After being mistreated by Sarai, Hagar flees into the wilderness. There, the Angel of the Lord finds her by a spring of water and delivers a message of hope and promise concerning her unborn son, Ishmael. In response to this divine encounter, Hagar declares, "You are the God who sees me," and she names the place Beer Lahai Roi, which means "Well of the Living One who sees me."
Scriptural Context:
Genesis 16:13 states: "So Hagar gave this name to the LORD who had spoken to her: 'You are the God who sees me,' for she said, 'Here I have seen the One who sees me.'" This passage highlights the personal nature of God's care and His attentiveness to the plight of individuals, even those who may feel marginalized or forgotten.
Theological Significance:
The name El Roi underscores several key theological themes:
1. God's Omniscience: El Roi affirms that God is all-seeing and all-knowing. He is aware of every detail of His creation and the lives of His people. This attribute of God provides comfort and assurance that nothing escapes His notice.
2. God's Personal Care: The encounter between Hagar and the Angel of the Lord illustrates God's intimate involvement in the lives of individuals. Despite Hagar's status as a servant and an outsider, God sees her distress and intervenes with compassion and promise.
3. God's Faithfulness: The narrative of Hagar and Ishmael demonstrates God's faithfulness to His promises. Even when circumstances seem dire, God remains true to His word, providing guidance and hope for the future.
4. God's Inclusivity: The account of Hagar, an Egyptian, highlights God's concern for all people, regardless of their ethnic or social background. El Roi is not limited to a specific group but is the God who sees and cares for all humanity.
Application for Believers:
The revelation of God as El Roi offers profound implications for believers today. It reassures them that God is aware of their struggles and is actively involved in their lives. In times of loneliness, hardship, or uncertainty, believers can find solace in knowing that they are seen and valued by the God who sees all. This understanding encourages a deeper trust in God's providence and a commitment to live in accordance with His will, knowing that He is ever-present and attentive to their needs. - Bible Hub
"YEHOSHUA: THE LORD IS SALVATION"
January 21, 2026
Numbers 13:16
16 These are the names of the men which Moses sent to spy out the land. And Moses called Oshea the son of Nun Jehoshua.
Matthew 1:21
21 And she shall bring forth a son, and thou shalt call his name JESUS: for he shall save his people from their sins.
Yehoshua (יְהוֹשֻׁעַ) is a Hebrew name composed of two parts: “Yeho-“, a prefix referring to the name of God (YHWH), and “-shua,” meaning salvation. Therefore, Yehoshua translates to “The LORD is salvation” or “YHWH saves.”
This name is most famously borne by Joshua, the son of Nun, who succeeded Moses and led the Israelites into the Promised Land. His name [changed from Hoshea, meaning "salvation", to JEHOSHUA or Joshua, meaning YHWH SAVES] emphasizes God’s deliverance and faithfulness in fulfilling His promises.
Yeshua (יֵשׁוּעַ) [is] a later form of Yehoshua, also [meaning] “salvation.” Yeshua is the Aramaic and shorter Hebrew version of Yehoshua. In the New Testament, this name is given to Jesus, reflecting the Greek transliteration “Iēsous” (Ἰησοῦς). This name highlights Jesus’ role as the Savior, directly linking Him to the concept of salvation. - Fellowship of Israel Related Ministries
"YHWH SHALOM: THE GOD OF PEACE"
January 20, 2026
Judges 6:24
24 Then Gideon built an altar there unto the Lord, and called it Jehovah-shalom: unto this day it is yet in Ophrah of the Abi-ezrites.
YHWH SHALOM
Definition and Meaning:
Yahweh-Shalom is one of the compound names of God found in the Old Testament, meaning "The LORD is Peace" or "The LORD of Peace." This name reflects God's character as the source and provider of peace, emphasizing His role in bringing wholeness, tranquility, and harmony to His people.
Biblical Reference:
The name Yahweh-Shalom appears in the Book of Judges, specifically in Judges 6:24. This is the only occurrence of this particular name in the Bible. The context of this revelation is significant, as it occurs during a time of great distress and oppression for the Israelites.
Context in Scripture:
In Judges 6, the Israelites are suffering under the oppression of the Midianites due to their disobedience to God. The Angel of the LORD appears to Gideon, a young man from the tribe of Manasseh, to call him to deliver Israel from their enemies. Despite his initial doubts and feelings of inadequacy, Gideon is reassured by God's presence and promise of victory.
After receiving a sign from the Angel of the LORD, Gideon builds an altar to the LORD and names it Yahweh-Shalom. Judges 6:24 states: "So Gideon built an altar to the LORD there and called it The LORD Is Peace. To this day it stands in Ophrah of the Abiezrites."
Theological Significance:
The name Yahweh-Shalom reveals a profound aspect of God's nature. In the midst of turmoil and fear, God declares Himself as the source of peace. This peace is not merely the absence of conflict but encompasses a sense of completeness and well-being that only God can provide. It is a peace that transcends circumstances and is rooted in the assurance of God's presence and faithfulness.
Application for Believers:
For believers, Yahweh-Shalom serves as a reminder that true peace is found in a relationship with God. In times of personal or communal distress, Christians are encouraged to seek the peace that comes from trusting in God's sovereignty and goodness. The New Testament echoes this theme, with Jesus Christ being referred to as the "Prince of Peace" (Isaiah 9:6) and offering peace to His followers (John 14:27).
Related Concepts:
· Peace in the New Testament: The concept of peace is further developed in the New Testament, where it is associated with the reconciliation brought about through Jesus Christ. Romans 5:1 states, "Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ."
· Shalom: The Hebrew word "shalom" encompasses a holistic sense of peace, including physical, emotional, and spiritual well-being. It is a state of harmony with God, others, and oneself.
· God's Presence: The presence of God is often linked with peace in the Bible. Philippians 4:7 promises, "And the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, will guard your hearts and your minds in Christ Jesus."
Historical and Cultural Context:
In the ancient Near Eastern context, names held significant meaning and often reflected the character or attributes of individuals or deities. By naming the altar Yahweh-Shalom, Gideon acknowledged God's intervention and the peace that He alone could bring to Israel amidst their struggles.
Conclusion:
The name Yahweh-Shalom continues to resonate with believers today, offering assurance of God's peace in a world often marked by chaos and uncertainty. Through faith in God and His promises, Christians can experience the peace that surpasses all understanding, grounded in the eternal nature of Yahweh-Shalom. - Bible Hub
"ATTIYQ YOWM: THE ANCIENT OF DAYS"
January 19, 2026
Daniel 7:9–14
9 I beheld till the thrones were cast down, and the Ancient of days did sit, whose garment was white as snow, and the hair of his head like the pure wool: his throne was like the fiery flame, and his wheels as burning fire. 10 A fiery stream issued and came forth from before him: thousand thousands ministered unto him, and ten thousand times ten thousand stood before him: the judgment was set, and the books were opened. 11 I beheld then because of the voice of the great words which the horn spake: I beheld even till the beast was slain, and his body destroyed, and given to the burning flame. 12 As concerning the rest of the beasts, they had their dominion taken away: yet their lives were prolonged for a season and time. 13 I saw in the night visions, and, behold, one like the Son of man came with the clouds of heaven, and came to the Ancient of days, and they brought him near before him. 14 And there was given him dominion, and glory, and a kingdom, that all people, nations, and languages, should serve him: his dominion is an everlasting dominion, which shall not pass away, and his kingdom that which shall not be destroyed.
Daniel 7:21–22
21 I beheld, and the same horn made war with the saints, and prevailed against them; 22 Until the Ancient of days came, and judgment was given to the saints of the most High; and the time came that the saints possessed the kingdom.
Psalm 90:2
2 Before the mountains were brought forth, Or ever thou hadst formed the earth and the world, Even from everlasting to everlasting, thou art God.
Isaiah 44:6
6 Thus saith the Lord the King of Israel, And his redeemer the Lord of hosts; I am the first, and I am the last; And beside me there is no God.
Revelation 1:14–16
14 His head and his hairs were white like wool, as white as snow; and his eyes were as a flame of fire; 15 And his feet like unto fine brass, as if they burned in a furnace; and his voice as the sound of many waters. 16 And he had in his right hand seven stars: and out of his mouth went a sharp twoedged sword: and his countenance was as the sun shineth in his strength.
ANCIENT OF DAYS
The title describes One who is eternal and whose longevity and experience instill a trust that his decisions are wise and just. In ancient Canaanite texts, the supreme god El is called "father of years." . . . "Before him." The word q°damdhi could also be translated "before it," meaning from before the throne. If it is referring to God in a reverent; way, then the whole expression could be rendered as "coming out from him" that is, from the Ancient of Days (cf. Lev. 9:24). . . . The title the Ancient of Days points to God's eternal nature as well as to his wisdom. No parallel expression is found in the Bible; the most similar statement is Psalm 74:12, which calls God the "king from of old." The white color of his hair and clothing symbolizes purity and justice. David prayed to God, saying, "wash me, and I will be whiter than snow" (Ps. 51:7b). Yet, in many places in the Bible, God is described as a person filled with compassionate mercy. "A father to the fatherless, a defender of widows, / is God in his holy dwelling" (Ps. 68:5). The oppressed saints are vindicated by a strong, just, and merciful God. . . . 7:22 "The Ancient of Days." The two titles used in this chapter, "the Ancient of Days" and "the Most High," refer to one and the same Person . . . The interpretation given in the chapter does not even identify the Ancient of Days, although the text implies that he is the eternal God. . . . 7:9-14 In agreement with a host of commentators, the Ancient of Days is identified as God, while Jesus applied the title "Son of Man" to himself. God is the Judge, but he has chosen to delegate the judging to his Son. Thus, Jesus plays a dual role in judgment, serving as both our Judge and our Advocate. The legal basis for this judgment is God's moral law, given in the form of the Ten Commandments. - Zdravko Stefanovic, Daniel Wisdom to the Wise: Commentary on the Book of Daniel

Joshua 5:13–15
13 And it came to pass, when Joshua was by Jericho, that he lifted up his eyes and looked, and, behold, there stood a man over against him with his sword drawn in his hand: and Joshua went unto him, and said unto him, Art thou for us, or for our adversaries? 14 And he said, Nay; but as captain of the host of the Lord am I now come. And Joshua fell on his face to the earth, and did worship, and said unto him, What saith my lord unto his servant? 15 And the captain of the Lord’s host said unto Joshua, Loose thy shoe from off thy foot; for the place whereon thou standest is holy. And Joshua did so.
Matthew 25:31
31 When the Son of man shall come in his glory, and all the holy angels with him, then shall he sit upon the throne of his glory:
Romans 9:29
29 And as Esaias said before, Except the Lord of Sabaoth had left us a seed, we had been as Sodoma, and been made like unto Gomorrha.
Revelation 19:11–16
11 And I saw heaven opened, and behold a white horse; and he that sat upon him was called Faithful and True, and in righteousness he doth judge and make war. 12 His eyes were as a flame of fire, and on his head were many crowns; and he had a name written, that no man knew, but he himself. 13 And he was clothed with a vesture dipped in blood: and his name is called The Word of God. 14 And the armies which were in heaven followed him upon white horses, clothed in fine linen, white and clean. 15 And out of his mouth goeth a sharp sword, that with it he should smite the nations: and he shall rule them with a rod of iron: and he treadeth the winepress of the fierceness and wrath of Almighty God. 16 And he hath on his vesture and on his thigh a name written, KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.

Deuteronomy 4:24
24 For the Lord thy God is a consuming fire, even a jealous God.
Hebrews 12:1–29
1 Wherefore seeing we also are compassed about with so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which doth so easily beset us, and let us run with patience the race that is set before us, 2 Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith; who for the joy that was set before him endured the cross, despising the shame, and is set down at the right hand of the throne of God. 3 For consider him that endured such contradiction of sinners against himself, lest ye be wearied and faint in your minds. 4 Ye have not yet resisted unto blood, striving against sin. 5 And ye have forgotten the exhortation which speaketh unto you as unto children, My son, despise not thou the chastening of the Lord, nor faint when thou art rebuked of him: 6 For whom the Lord loveth he chasteneth, and scourgeth every son whom he receiveth. 7 If ye endure chastening, God dealeth with you as with sons; for what son is he whom the father chasteneth not? 8 But if ye be without chastisement, whereof all are partakers, then are ye bastards, and not sons. 9 Furthermore we have had fathers of our flesh which corrected us, and we gave them reverence: shall we not much rather be in subjection unto the Father of spirits, and live? 10 For they verily for a few days chastened us after their own pleasure; but he for our profit, that we might be partakers of his holiness. 11 Now no chastening for the present seemeth to be joyous, but grievous: nevertheless afterward it yieldeth the peaceable fruit of righteousness unto them which are exercised thereby. 12 Wherefore lift up the hands which hang down, and the feeble knees; 13 And make straight paths for your feet, lest that which is lame be turned out of the way; but let it rather be healed. 14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord: 15 Looking diligently lest any man fail of the grace of God; lest any root of bitterness springing up trouble you, and thereby many be defiled; 16 Lest there be any fornicator, or profane person, as Esau, who for one morsel of meat sold his birthright. 17 For ye know how that afterward, when he would have inherited the blessing, he was rejected: for he found no place of repentance, though he sought it carefully with tears. 18 For ye are not come unto the mount that might be touched, and that burned with fire, nor unto blackness, and darkness, and tempest, 19 And the sound of a trumpet, and the voice of words; which voice they that heard intreated that the word should not be spoken to them any more: 20 (For they could not endure that which was commanded, And if so much as a beast touch the mountain, it shall be stoned, or thrust through with a dart: 21 And so terrible was the sight, that Moses said, I exceedingly fear and quake:) 22 But ye are come unto mount Sion, and unto the city of the living God, the heavenly Jerusalem, and to an innumerable company of angels, 23 To the general assembly and church of the firstborn, which are written in heaven, and to God the Judge of all, and to the spirits of just men made perfect, 24 And to Jesus the mediator of the new covenant, and to the blood of sprinkling, that speaketh better things than that of Abel. 25 See that ye refuse not him that speaketh. For if they escaped not who refused him that spake on earth, much more shall not we escape, if we turn away from him that speaketh from heaven: 26 Whose voice then shook the earth: but now he hath promised, saying, Yet once more I shake not the earth only, but also heaven. 27 And this word, Yet once more, signifieth the removing of those things that are shaken, as of things that are made, that those things which cannot be shaken may remain. 28 Wherefore we receiving a kingdom which cannot be moved, let us have grace, whereby we may serve God acceptably with reverence and godly fear: 29 For our God is a consuming fire.
["El Kanna is the Hebrew name for God meaning consuming fire, jealous God. This name contains a holy version of jealousy that God has for His people. God is jealous for you and me. We are greatly loved and treasured! God is jealous for you. He wants every inch of your heart connected to His. God’s holy jealousy is rooted in a desire to protect, provide, and bless....]
"El Kanna... is mentioned six times in the Old Testament of the Bible. We first meet it in Exodus 34:14.
After leading the nation of Israel out of Egyptian slavery, God brings them to Mount Sinai where He gives Moses the Ten Commandments. While Moses is on the mountain with God, the people talk Aaron into making a golden calf for them to worship. As Moses comes down from the mountain and sees the calf, he becomes angry and throws down the stone tablet God had given him that had His commandments on them. God is ready to wipe the entire nation out, but Moses intercedes for them.
You will get a better understanding of the rules that God set out for His chosen people as you read about this story in the book of Exodus. It was for their protection, both physical and spiritual. It is the same for us! God gave us these commandments to protect our hearts. God is a jealous, loving God and He loves us passionately! In fact, in this Hebrew name of God, El Kanna describes God as Israel's husband, jealous for her affections and ours too. El-Kanna demands an exclusive love relationship with His people. In Deuteronomy 6:5, we learn we are to “Love the Lord your God with all your heart and with all your soul and with all your strength. There is no room in our relationship with God for any idols." - Spiritual Grace

7 Then said Jesus unto them again, "Verily, verily, I say unto you, I AM the door of the sheep. 8 All that ever came before ME are thieves and robbers: but the sheep did not hear them. 9 I AM the door: by ME if any man enter in, he shall be saved, and shall go in and out, and find pasture. 10 The thief cometh not, but for to steal, and to kill, and to destroy: I AM come that they might have life, and that they might have it more abundantly. 11 I AM the good shepherd: the good shepherd giveth HIS life for the sheep. 12 But he that is an hireling, and not the shepherd, whose own the sheep are not, seeth the wolf coming, and leaveth the sheep, and fleeth: and the wolf catcheth them, and scattereth the sheep. 13 The hireling fleeth, because he is an hireling, and careth not for the sheep. 14 I AM the good shepherd, and know MY sheep, and am known of mine. 15 As the FATHER knoweth ME, even so know I the FATHER: and I lay down MY life for the sheep. 16 And other sheep I have, which are not of this fold: them also I must bring, and they shall hear MY voice; and there shall be one fold, and ONE SHEPHERD. 17 Therefore doth my FATHER love ME, because I lay down MY life, that I might take it again. 18 No man taketh it from ME, but I lay it down of MYSELF. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my FATHER."
Luke 15:4–7
4 What man of you, having an hundred sheep, if he lose one of them, doth not leave the ninety and nine in the wilderness, and go after that which is lost, until he find it? 5 And when he hath found it, he layeth it on his shoulders, rejoicing. 6 And when he cometh home, he calleth together his friends and neighbours, saying unto them, Rejoice with me; for I have found my sheep which was lost. 7 I say unto you, that likewise joy shall be in heaven over one sinner that repenteth, more than over ninety and nine just persons, which need no repentance.
The LORD is My SHEPHERD
"As Jesus, the great Teacher, presents His lessons to be learned from the open book of nature, He opens the eye of their understanding to reveal the attention that is given to objects in proportion to the rank they occupy in the scale of creation. If the grass of the field, which today is so beautiful, delighting the senses, [and] is tomorrow cut down and burned, receives so great attention from God, how much more will He not bestow upon man formed in His image. We cannot form exaggerated ideas of the value of the human soul, and the attention given by Heaven to man. He then gives the comforting assurance, “Fear not, little flock; for it is your Father’s good pleasure to give you the kingdom.”
Jesus is the good Shepherd. His followers are the sheep of His pasture. A shepherd is always with his flock to defend them, to keep them from the wolves, to hunt up the lost sheep and carry them back to the fold, to lead them beside green pastures and beside living waters.
I cannot neglect the great salvation that has been brought to me at such an infinite cost to my heavenly Father, who “so loved the world that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.” I will not dishonor my Redeemer to lightly esteem His sufferings, His trials, His condescension, His sacrifice, His death, because He so loves us, He would Himself become our sin-bearer. Oh, what love, what inexpressible love! He became a man of sorrows, acquainted with grief. He died on the cross [as if He were] a transgressor, that man might be justified through His merits....
The soul is through the Lifegiver capable of living through eternal ages, and man is to take special care of the soul which Christ has purchased with His own blood. With Christ is Omnipotence. He also is able to keep that which I have committed to His trust against that day. If the preciousness of the soul has not been appreciated, if its temple courts have been defiled with buyers and sellers, and with committing it to the rule and indwelling of Satan in thought or in feeling, I would in deep earnestness beseech you to make no delay, but come before God in sincere prayer without one moment’s speculation or hesitation, and say, “O Lord, I have opened the door of my heart to Thy worst enemy, and the worst enemy of my soul. I have acted as though I could save my own soul, as if I could sin and then reform when I choose to do so; but I find a power holding me in his keeping. Thou alone can save me that my soul shall not be eternally ruined.... No longer will I withhold it from Thee. I dare not trust it with any power but Thine.... I lay it at Thy feet. Thou Lamb of God, wash my soul in the blood of the Lamb; clothe it with Thine own garments of purity and righteousness...." - Lift Him Up - Page 215

Exodus 31:12–14
12 And the Lord spake unto Moses, saying, 13 Speak thou also unto the children of Israel, saying, Verily my sabbaths ye shall keep: for it is a sign between me and you throughout your generations; that ye may know that I AM the Lord that doth sanctify you. 14 Ye shall keep the sabbath therefore; for it is holy unto you: every one that defileth it shall surely be put to death: for whosoever doeth any work therein, that soul shall be cut off from among his people.
Genesis 2:2–3
2 And on the seventh day God ended his work which he had made; and he rested on the seventh day from all his work which he had made. 3 And God blessed the seventh day, and sanctified it: because that in it he had rested from all his work which God created and made.
Ezekiel 20:12
12 Moreover also I gave them my sabbaths, to be a sign between me and them, that they might know that I am the Lord that sanctify them.
Ezekiel 20:19–20
19 I am the Lord your God; walk in my statutes, and keep my judgments, and do them; 20 And hallow my sabbaths; and they shall be a sign between me and you, that ye may know that I am the Lord your God.
Mark 2:27–28
27 And he said unto them, The sabbath was made for man, and not man for the sabbath: 28 Therefore the Son of man is Lord also of the sabbath.
2 Corinthians 6:17–18
17 Wherefore come out from among them, and be ye separate, saith the Lord, and touch not the unclean thing; and I will receive you, 18 And will be a Father unto you, and ye shall be my sons and daughters, saith the Lord Almighty.
1 Thessalonians 5:21–24
21 Prove all things; hold fast that which is good. 22 Abstain from all appearance of evil. 23 And the very God of peace sanctify you wholly; and I pray God your whole spirit and soul and body be preserved blameless unto the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ. 24 Faithful is he that calleth you, who also will do it.
Hebrews 12:14
14 Follow peace with all men, and holiness, without which no man shall see the Lord:
Revelation 14:6–7
6 And I saw another angel fly in the midst of heaven, having the everlasting gospel to preach unto them that dwell on the earth, and to every nation, and kindred, and tongue, and people, 7 Saying with a loud voice, Fear God, and give glory to him; for the hour of his judgment is come: and worship him that made heaven, and earth, and the sea, and the fountains of waters.
Sanctification
GOD says HE is holy, therefore we must be holy (Leviticus 11:45)... and that it is HE WHO makes us holy... and by resting in HIS finished works continually, we become sanctified. GOD never calls us to make ourselves, or even to make the Sabbath, holy. It is HE WHO does the work. Our "work" is to cooperate with GOD by submitting to HIS will and to HIS Word, to "keep" and "walk" (live in) this finished work through faith "separate" from the world (Leviticus 20:7-8; 2 Corinthians 7:1; 2 Corinthians 6:17). The Sabbath was "made" by the CREATOR GOD as a fitting symbol of this truth.

The germination of the seed represents the beginning of spiritual life, and the development of the plant is a beautiful figure of Christian growth. As in nature, so in grace; there can be no life without growth. The plant must either grow or die. As its growth is silent and imperceptible, but continuous, so is the development of the Christian life. At every stage of development our life may be perfect; yet if God’s purpose for us is fulfilled, there will be continual advancement. Sanctification is the work of a lifetime. As our opportunities multiply, our experience will enlarge, and our knowledge increase. We shall become strong to bear responsibility, and our maturity will be in proportion to our privileges. - Christ's Object Lessons, p.65.2
"YHWH TSIDKENU: THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS"

Jeremiah 23:6
6 In his days Judah shall be saved, and Israel shall dwell safely: and this is his name whereby he shall be called, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS.
Romans 1:16–17
16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel of Christ: for it is the power of God unto salvation to every one that believeth; to the Jew first, and also to the Greek. 17 For therein is the righteousness of God revealed from faith to faith: as it is written, The just shall live by faith.
Romans 3:21–25
21 But now the righteousness of God without the law is manifested, being witnessed by the law and the prophets; 22 Even the righteousness of God which is by faith of Jesus Christ unto all and upon all them that believe: for there is no difference: 23 For all have sinned, and come short of the glory of God; 24 Being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus: 25 Whom God hath set forth to be a propitiation through faith in his blood, to declare his righteousness for the remission of sins that are past, through the forbearance of God;
Romans 8:1–4
1 There is therefore now no condemnation to them which are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit. 2 For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus hath made me free from the law of sin and death. 3 For what the law could not do, in that it was weak through the flesh, God sending his own Son in the likeness of sinful flesh, and for sin, condemned sin in the flesh: 4 That the righteousness of the law might be fulfilled in us, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit.
Romans 9:30–33
30 What shall we say then? That the Gentiles, which followed not after righteousness, have attained to righteousness, even the righteousness which is of faith. 31 But Israel, which followed after the law of righteousness, hath not attained to the law of righteousness. 32 Wherefore? Because they sought it not by faith, but as it were by the works of the law. For they stumbled at that stumblingstone; 33 As it is written, Behold, I lay in Sion a stumblingstone and rock of offence: and whosoever believeth on him shall not be ashamed.
The LORD Our Righteousness
"On the Saviour’s coronation day He will not acknowledge as His any who bear spot or wrinkle. But to His faithful ones He will give crowns of immortal glory. Those who would not that He should reign over them will see Him surrounded by the army of the redeemed, each bearing the sign, THE LORD OUR RIGHTEOUSNESS. They will see the head once crowned with thorns crowned with a diadem of glory." - Sabbath Review and Advent Herald, May 5, 1903.
"YHWH TSURI: THE LORD IS MY ROCK"

Psalm 18:2
2 The Lord is my rock, and my fortress, and my deliverer; My God, my strength, in whom I will trust; My buckler, and the horn of my salvation, and my high tower.
1 Corinthians 10:1–5
1 Moreover, brethren, I would not that ye should be ignorant, how that all our fathers were under the cloud, and all passed through the sea; 2 And were all baptized unto Moses in the cloud and in the sea; 3 And did all eat the same spiritual meat; 4 And did all drink the same spiritual drink: for they drank of that spiritual Rock that followed them: and that Rock was Christ. 5 But with many of them God was not well pleased: for they were overthrown in the wilderness.
Matthew 7:24–27
24 Therefore whosoever heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them, I will liken him unto a wise man, which built his house upon a rock: 25 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell not: for it was founded upon a rock. 26 And every one that heareth these sayings of mine, and doeth them not, shall be likened unto a foolish man, which built his house upon the sand: 27 And the rain descended, and the floods came, and the winds blew, and beat upon that house; and it fell: and great was the fall of it.
Daniel 2:45
45 Forasmuch as thou sawest that the stone was cut out of the mountain without hands, and that it brake in pieces the iron, the brass, the clay, the silver, and the gold; the great God hath made known to the king what shall come to pass hereafter: and the dream is certain, and the interpretation thereof sure.
Deuteronomy 9:11
11 And it came to pass at the end of forty days and forty nights, that the Lord gave me the two tables of stone, even the tables of the covenant.
Exodus 17:1–7
1 And all the congregation of the children of Israel journeyed from the wilderness of Sin, after their journeys, according to the commandment of the Lord, and pitched in Rephidim: and there was no water for the people to drink. 2 Wherefore the people did chide with Moses, and said, Give us water that we may drink. And Moses said unto them, Why chide ye with me? wherefore do ye tempt the Lord? 3 And the people thirsted there for water; and the people murmured against Moses, and said, Wherefore is this that thou hast brought us up out of Egypt, to kill us and our children and our cattle with thirst? 4 And Moses cried unto the Lord, saying, What shall I do unto this people? they be almost ready to stone me. 5 And the Lord said unto Moses, Go on before the people, and take with thee of the elders of Israel; and thy rod, wherewith thou smotest the river, take in thine hand, and go. 6 Behold, I will stand before thee there upon the rock in Horeb; and thou shalt smite the rock, and there shall come water out of it, that the people may drink. And Moses did so in the sight of the elders of Israel. 7 And he called the name of the place Massah, and Meribah, because of the chiding of the children of Israel, and because they tempted the Lord, saying, Is the Lord among us, or not?
Isaiah 28:16
16 Therefore thus saith the Lord God, Behold, I lay in Zion for a foundation a stone, A tried stone, a precious corner stone, a sure foundation: He that believeth shall not make haste.
Revelation 21:19–20
19 And the foundations of the wall of the city were garnished with all manner of precious stones. The first foundation was jasper; the second, sapphire; the third, a chalcedony; the fourth, an emerald; 20 The fifth, sardonyx; the sixth, sardius; the seventh, chrysolite; the eighth, beryl; the ninth, a topaz; the tenth, a chrysoprasus; the eleventh, a jacinth; the twelfth, an amethyst.
ROCK
Strength, stability, foundation, enduring. The Ten Commandments were written on it, the nations of the earth were crushed by a "rock cut out without hands," the foundations of the New Jerusalem are made of precious stones (or rocks). These things that are enduring are symbolic of a GOD WHO IS ETERNAL, WHO IS THERE, WHO IS THE PROVIDER, WHO IS THE FOUNDATION, WHO IS THE GREAT I AM.

Deuteronomy 7:15
15 And the Lord will take away from thee all sickness, and will put none of the evil diseases of Egypt, which thou knowest, upon thee; but will lay them upon all them that hate thee.
2 Chronicles 7:14
14 If my people, which are called by my name, shall humble themselves, and pray, and seek my face, and turn from their wicked ways; then will I hear from heaven, and will forgive their sin, and will heal their land.

Isaiah 53:5
5 But he was wounded for our transgressions, He was bruised for our iniquities: The chastisement of our peace was upon him; And with his stripes we are healed.
Matthew 8:16–17
16 When the even was come, they brought unto him many that were possessed with devils: and he cast out the spirits with his word, and healed all that were sick: 17 That it might be fulfilled which was spoken by Esaias the prophet, saying, Himself took our infirmities, and bare our sicknesses.
Mark 5:34
34 And he said unto her, Daughter, thy faith hath made thee whole; go in peace, and be whole of thy plague.
Luke 6:19
19 And the whole multitude sought to touch him: for there went virtue out of him, and healed them all.
(Exodus 15:26) "Here is recorded a wonderful promise. If God’s people would henceforth render strict obedience to all His commandments, then He would “heal” them as He had healed the water, and would keep them free from both physical and moral evil. Their physical well-being was therefore made dependent upon obedience. This great principle was true not only in the time of the Hebrews but through all ages. The physical well-being of the human race is still to a large extent dependent upon their regard for divine law. Those who disregard the laws that govern healthful living have but themselves to blame for the consequences. On the other hand, those who live according to divinely imparted instructions on health will experience a marked freedom from diseases. God is interested not only in man’s spiritual state but also in his physical state (see 3 John 2).
These Diseases. Some of these diseases are enumerated in Deut. 28:27, and reference to them is also made in Deut. 7:15. It is known that certain diseases have always been prevalent among the Egyptians with extreme severity, especially skin and eye diseases. During their long sojourn in Egypt the Hebrews were well acquainted with the diseases of Egypt.
The Lord that healeth thee. The Egyptian physicians were famous all over the ancient Near East, but extant texts show that they did not consider the power of healing to be their own, but their gods’. In their medical handbooks, some of which are now 4,000 years old, diseases are divided into three classes: (1) those that can be treated; (2) those that can be arrested; (3) those that cannot be cured. Though medical science has advanced tremendously since the days of Moses, the above classification still stands. The surgeon can make an incision, remove an organ, and sew up the wound, but he cannot heal it. The physician can administer certain drugs, which he knows to have certain effects on certain ailments, but there his skill ends. The actual healing process is performed by a power over which human science has no control. It is still true in the [21st] century as it was in the time of Moses that God alone imparts healing. He is the Master Physician." - SDA Bible Commentary

Genesis 15:1–8
1 After these things the word of the Lord came unto Abram in a vision, saying, Fear not, Abram: I am thy shield, and thy exceeding great reward. 2 And Abram said, Lord God, what wilt thou give me, seeing I go childless, and the steward of my house is this Eliezer of Damascus? 3 And Abram said, Behold, to me thou hast given no seed: and, lo, one born in my house is mine heir. 4 And, behold, the word of the Lord came unto him, saying, This shall not be thine heir; but he that shall come forth out of thine own bowels shall be thine heir. 5 And he brought him forth abroad, and said, Look now toward heaven, and tell the stars, if thou be able to number them: and he said unto him, So shall thy seed be. 6 And he believed in the Lord; and he counted it to him for righteousness. 7 And he said unto him, I am the Lord that brought thee out of Ur of the Chaldees, to give thee this land to inherit it. 8 And he said, Lord God, whereby shall I know that I shall inherit it?

Have ye not known? have ye not heard? hath it not been told you from the beginning? have ye not understood from the foundations of the earth? It is He that sitteth upon the circle of the earth, and the inhabitants thereof are as grasshoppers; that stretcheth out the heavens as a curtain, and spreadeth them out as a tent to dwell in. . . . To whom then will ye liken Me, or shall I be equal? saith the Holy One. Lift up your eyes on high, and behold who hath created these things, that bringeth out their host by number: He calleth them all by names by the greatness of His might, for that He is strong in power; not one faileth. Why sayest thou, O Jacob, and speakest, O Israel, My way is hid from the Lord, and my judgment is passed over from my God? Hast thou not known? hast thou not heard, that the everlasting God, the Lord, the Creator of the ends of the earth, fainteth not, neither is weary? . . . He giveth power to the faint; and to them that have no might He increaseth strength." "YHWH (JEHOVAH)-JIREH: GOD WHO PROVIDES"
January 7, 2026
Genesis 22:10–18
John 1:29
29 The next day John seeth Jesus coming unto him, and saith, Behold the Lamb of God, which taketh away the sin of the world.
Meaning and Etymology
“Jehovah Jireh” is a phrase drawn from the Hebrew text found in Genesis 22:14 (BSB: “And Abraham called that place The LORD Will Provide. So to this day it is said, ‘On the mountain of the LORD it will be provided.’”). In Hebrew, it involves the covenant name for God (YHWH, often rendered as “Jehovah” in older English texts) and the root for “see” or “provide” (ra’ah). The phrase is commonly translated as “The LORD Will Provide,” underscoring divine provision and care.
The etymology also suggests “The LORD will see to it,” indicating God’s foreknowledge in meeting needs. Some interpret this as “The LORD who sees,” but the overarching theme is God’s proactive ability to supply what is lacking.
[Of course, the greatest need of mankind is to know and develop a deep love-relationship with the GOD Who provided Himself as a lamb on Golgotha's Hill to "take away the sin of the world." (John 1:29). The fulfilling of the Adamic Covenant is in view. (Genesis 3:15 ). O, what LOVE is this that YHWH would give Himself in His SON to redeem you and me from our sin! (John 3:16).]
Biblical Context
Genesis 22 records the account of Abraham’s faith when God instructs him to offer Isaac, the son of promise, as a sacrifice on Mount Moriah. This testing culminates in two major moments:
• Abraham’s obedience to proceed in faith that God could and would fulfill His promises (Genesis 22:3-5).
• God’s intervention by providing a ram as a substitutionary sacrifice for Isaac (Genesis 22:13).
In response, Abraham names the location “Jehovah Jireh” to memorialize God’s faithful provision. Thus, the immediate context is one of tested faith, trust in God’s promises, and the demonstration of God’s power to provide an alternative.
Historical and Archaeological Insights
The region of Moriah, where Abraham journeyed, has been associated by tradition with the area of Jerusalem (2 Chronicles 3:1). While there is ongoing discussion regarding the exact physical site, archaeological studies support that worship on or near the mountainous regions around Jerusalem traces far back into ancient history.
In comparing surviving manuscripts such as the Dead Sea Scrolls (which preserve portions of Genesis in ancient Hebrew), the phrase pointing to God’s provision remains consistent throughout copy and translation. Examination of these manuscripts confirms the reliability of the Genesis narrative, reinforcing the continuity of the name “LORD Will Provide.”
Theological Significance
The name “Jehovah Jireh” highlights central themes:
• Divine Faithfulness: It offers an assurance that God is able to meet needs, whether physical or spiritual. This is reflected in multiple passages of Scripture underscoring the Lord’s care (cf. Psalm 23:1: “The LORD is my shepherd; I shall not want.”).
• Foreshadowing Substitution: The ram provided in place of Isaac foreshadows God’s ultimate provision through the sacrifice and resurrection of Jesus Christ. The idea of a substitute who takes the place of another is a core theological concept culminating in the atoning work of Christ (John 1:29).
• Continuity of Covenant: By calling God “Jehovah Jireh,” Abraham publicly declared God’s reliability in fulfilling the covenant promises. It is a direct statement that God’s provisions are tied to His faithfulness.
Scripture-Wide References
Several passages reinforce this concept of divine provision:
• 1 Kings 17:1-16: God provides for Elijah through extraordinary means (ravens, then a widow’s unending flour and oil).
• Matthew 6:25-33: Jesus reminds His listeners not to worry, for the Father knows their needs and will provide.
These examples expand on “Jehovah Jireh” by showing that God’s provision was not isolated to Abraham’s experience but extends across biblical history and into the teachings of the New Testament.
Practical Application
“Jehovah Jireh” becomes a guiding truth for life’s trials. The lesson is not simply that God grants material blessings, but that He intimately knows every situation. As shown in Abraham’s test, believers are called to trust in God’s timing and method of provision. This anticipation can shape a person’s response to challenges, believing confidently that the living God sees and will see to every need.
In times of hardship, remembering “Jehovah Jireh” strengthens faith, prompts thankful worship, and shouldn’t be reduced to a mere financial hope. Rather, it is a comprehensive trust in the One who meets every conceivable need-from forgiveness of sins to daily sustenance.
Correlation with the Person of Christ
Jesus taught that our Father in heaven is fully aware of our needs and provides abundantly (Matthew 6:33). In a broader theological sense, the name “Jehovah Jireh” is ultimately and most profoundly realized in Christ’s sacrificial work. As the Lamb provided by God, Jesus fulfills the promise foreshadowed in Abraham’s ram-a clear parallel that highlights God’s plan for redemption. Romans 8:32 underscores God’s generosity: “He who did not spare His own Son but gave Him up for us all-how will He not also, along with Him, freely give us all things?”
Conclusion
“Jehovah Jireh” speaks to God’s timeless ability and desire to provide. Centered in the historical events of Genesis 22, its significance spans the entirety of Scripture. The consistent testimony of biblical manuscripts, the continuity across both Old and New Testaments, and the experience of believers across centuries confirm that this name of God stands as a vivid reminder of divine faithfulness. Ultimately, it points to the heart of salvation history: God’s provision of life and grace through Jesus Christ. - Bible Hub

ALMIGHTY
The term "Almighty" is a significant designation for God in the Bible, emphasizing His supreme power and authority over all creation. It is a translation of the Hebrew word "Shaddai" and the Greek word "Pantokrator," both of which convey the idea of God's omnipotence and sovereign rule.
Old Testament Usage
In the Old Testament, "Almighty" is often used to highlight God's unparalleled strength and His ability to accomplish His will without hindrance. One of the earliest occurrences is found in Genesis 17:1, where God reveals Himself to Abram: "When Abram was ninety-nine years old, the LORD appeared to him and said, 'I am God Almighty; walk before Me and be blameless.'" . Here, God Almighty establishes His covenant with Abram, underscoring His power to fulfill His promises.
The name "El Shaddai" is frequently associated with God's covenantal faithfulness and His ability to provide and protect. In the book of Job, the term is used extensively, reflecting on God's sovereignty and the mystery of His ways. Job 37:23 states, "The Almighty is beyond our reach; He is exalted in power; in His justice and great righteousness, He does not oppress." . This passage highlights the transcendence and righteousness of the Almighty, who governs the universe with perfect justice.
New Testament Usage
In the New Testament, the Greek term "Pantokrator" is used to describe God's almighty nature. It appears prominently in the book of Revelation, where it underscores God's ultimate authority over the cosmos and His role in the final judgment. Revelation 1:8 declares, "'I am the Alpha and the Omega,' says the Lord God, 'who is and was and is to come—the Almighty.'" This verse affirms God's eternal existence and His control over the past, present, and future.
The title "Almighty" in the New Testament also emphasizes the power of Christ, who shares in the divine nature. In Revelation 19:15, Christ is depicted as the conquering King: "Out of His mouth proceeds a sharp sword with which to strike down the nations, and He will rule them with an iron scepter. He treads the winepress of the fury of the wrath of God the Almighty." This imagery portrays Christ as the executor of God's almighty judgment.
Theological Significance
The concept of God as the Almighty is central to understanding His nature and attributes. It affirms His omnipotence, meaning that God possesses unlimited power and is capable of doing anything that is consistent with His character. This attribute assures believers of God's ability to fulfill His promises, provide for their needs, and protect them from harm.
Furthermore, recognizing God as the Almighty fosters a sense of reverence and awe, encouraging worship and submission to His will. It also provides comfort and assurance, knowing that the Almighty God is in control of all circumstances and that nothing can thwart His purposes.
In summary, the title "Almighty" encapsulates the essence of God's power and authority, serving as a reminder of His sovereign rule over all creation and His unwavering commitment to His people. - Topical Bible

"GOD Is LOVE"
January 2, 2026
1 John 4:7–8
7 Beloved, let us love one another: for love is of God; and every one that loveth is born of God, and knoweth God. 8 He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.
1 John 4:16–17
16 And we have known and believed the love that God hath to us. God is love; and he that dwelleth in love dwelleth in God, and God in him. 17 Herein is our love made perfect, that we may have boldness in the day of judgment: because as he is, so are we in this world.
John 3:16
16 For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.
THE LOVE OF GOD
“God is Love.” He is the same from everlasting to everlasting. With him is “no variableness, neither shadow of turning.” James 1:17. Many have made the serious mistake of supposing that God has changed with the changes of man’s relations to his government. If they do not directly speak it in words, the thought often discovers itself in their reasonings, that God is different, either in purpose or disposition, in the fall of man, or in the changes of dispensations, from what he was in the remotest ages of his eternity. Many show that they look upon him as only a cool deliberator in the work of creation, having no deep, earnest, intense feelings of sympathy and love for the work of his hands; that he was but a rigid lawgiver in the Levitical dispensation, and that be manifested himself as love only in the present or gospel dispensation. In nothing that we can conceive could there be a greater misrepresentation of the divine character than in such a view as that. He has uttered a strong reproof to those who think he is such a one as themselves. Psalm 50:21. And in nothing is this error more manifest than in representing him as changeable in character and in purpose."
